“Picked up from hotel by guide, who had sent a message the previous day with his name and confirming pick-up time. Giving us the opportunity to reply back. Rumsiskes museum was large, and spread out with interesting gardens and well kept buildings. We stopped for a coffee in the ‘town’, which was much needed. Luckily we remembered to bring insect repellent! Staff were extremely friendly to non-Lithuanian speaking visitors. Our guide was knowledgeable and informative, he answered all our questions (regardless of their relevance). Then we went to Trakai Castle, where we had a quick lunch before the tour of the castle and surrounding views. Finally stopped at Paneriai holocaust…”
